This is a series of basic marketing creatives created for artist Aimee Mann for a show at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines, IA.
I started with an initial press photo and information that the show would feature songs from her album Bachelor No. 2. I referenced that album for a color palette (#e8f0c8).
From there, I found a typeface that was elegant but also bold. Abril Fatface served the role well.
Finally, 2 art elements are added for functionality and flexibility. A line art drawing of some vines and leaves is faded into the background, and a quick paint brush stroke serves to help key text stand out.
