Bands change members…this is inevitable. Sometimes the member change is significant and requires a reservice of all marketing materials from posters to videos.
Stabercrombie Design assisted classic rock icons Foreigner with a rush order when they added a new lead singer. Much of the existing TV Spot leaned on footage of the former frontman, so I supplied a new edit from top to bottom that highlighted the new member and gave other members some screen time.
I reviewed 6 minutes of live B-roll and found 5-10 clips of various band members in action. I also leaned on wide shots of the stage that featured the band logo.
This footage was paired with an audio radio spot in Premiere Pro. Next video transitions were added to smooth out edits and add motion. The finished montage was exported to After Effects, where I added band logo animations, local date/venue and ticketing animations, and an outro graphic summarizing all pertinent info again.
A finished 30-second TV spot was exported as an HD file, and the show went on.
