Friends is the second of 12 tracks to be released in 2024. Many of these releases will feature unique collaborations and will later be compiled on a wider full-length streaming release in 2025.
This track features Dan Roth of the Funk Brotherhood on keyboards and Mike Baggetta on guitar. The track started with a completely different set of lyrics and was initially titled Creeping. It floundered in this state for many months, but one day I tried a fresh approach, took lyrics intended for a country-style song, and grafted onto the Creeping track. This added much-needed emotional hooks and the song started to grow. The final addition was a cathartic electric guitar contribution from MSSV guitarist Mike Baggetta.
