I started writing lyrics for this project in 2022, and my wife Stephanie used a blank page between potential lyrics to write a Holiday grocery list. I knew this project would include some kind of collab with Matthew, so I decided the grocery list should be a song. Matthew has a history of singing about vegetables. He wrote a song called Project in High School referencing agriculture and the industrial revolution, so this was an easy fit.
Matthew and J added several items to the shopping list and worked in some transitional phrases to make it flow better. J. Added a delicious flute melody and the dish was ready to serve!
I smiled and laughed deeply the first time I heard their contributions, and have every single listen since. I hope this brings everyone some joy as well and at least makes you hungry!
