Web design for global geosynthetic manufacturer SKAPS Industries. They serve clients in over 60 countries and have headquarters in both Athens, Georgia, and Prahladnagar, Ahmedabad, India. The scale of the site was very large with 354 images, 249 pages, and 11 posts to create. The project spanned 6 months and went live in July 2023.
This project involved a top to bottom rebuild of a site, migration, and ongoing content management. The original site had fallen victim to mismanagement from an outsourced company that had failed to update plugins, WordPress versions, and themes. So, I rebuilt it over the course of 6 months on a new host. Text and images were scavenged from the live site. I then removed text formatting and exported faster-loading WebP images to improve page performance.
I worked closely with SKAPS representatives to ensure all of the numerous data tables made it to the new site. We also worked to improve the page hierarchy to clean up a super busy menu. Improvements were also made to product organization and presentation. Finally, all of the content was SEO optimized with keywords, meta descriptions, and alt tags throughout.
Once the company was happy with the design and functionality we migrated to their private server.
