Summer Haircut is the sixth of 12 tracks to be released in 2024. Many of these releases will feature unique collaborations and will later be compiled on a wider full-length streaming release in 2025.
This track features Matthew Williams on guitar. Anyone who knows me realizes that Matthew has been a steady collaborator since 1995. Projects include Yellow 5, Camel Toe, Hand Puppet, Dysfunktion Junktion, Fatty Acid, Thunder Monkey, Blueground Undergrass, and more.
Matthew always brings a sense of fun and musicality, so he stays on speed dial. One of his particular strengths is creating guitar blankets. This comes into play on this month’s track Summer Haircut. I had a bass, drum machine, and vocal recording and he added several layers of lead lines and rhythms.
My daughter Stella was the inspiration for the song and also created the cover art.
